Since 1972, Riverside Meals on Wheels has delivered hot, nutritious meals to seniors and disabled housebound residents in Riverside, CA. As a local 501(c)3 nonprofit volunteer organization, we depend on private donations to support the meal program. Our mission is to provide nutritional assistance to help people remain independent in their own homes as long as possible. Riverside Meals on Wheels provides not only a home-delivered meal, but regular contact with a friendly, caring driver. Our program is unique in that we offer special dietary options, including diabetic and vegetarian meals, and free pet food for their treasured companions, through a partnership with the Riverside Humane Society.
During the month of March, Riverside Meals on Wheels will participate in the nationwide “March For Meals” campaign to increase awareness of the problem of senior hunger, recruit new volunteers, and raise funds to support local meal programs. A highlight of the month-long campaign is “Mayors For Meals” Day on Wednesday, March 23,2011. On this designated day, elected officials in Riverside will join mayors and other dignitaries throughout the country in delivering meals to seniors in their districts to demonstrate support for local Meals On Wheels programs.
March For Meals Sponsorships Available

by joining March For Meals!
 *Gold Sponsorship: $1,000 provides meals for 10 seniors for a full month.
*Silver Sponsorship: $500 provides meals for 5 seniors for a month.
*Bronze Sponsorship: $100 provides meals for 1 senior for a month.
*Restaurant Sponsorship: Restaurants and other businesses are encouraged to designate sales of specific menu items or services to Riverside Meals on Wheels during the month of March.
*Name Your Day Sponsorship: Businesses, organizations, and community groups are invited to deliver meals during March, accompanied by a regular volunteer host. Meals are delivered at 10 a.m., Monday-Friday, and it takes less than two hours. For a minimum donation of $100, the date you select to deliver meals will be promoted as “Your Name Day.”
All sponsorships will be promoted in a press release, newspaper ad, and the Riverside Meals on Wheels newsletter, with a circulation of at least 800. Gold and Silver Sponsors are also displayed on magnetic signs on delivery vehicles of your sponsored route throughout the month of March. To be included in initial advertising, at least half of the sponsorship amount must be received by February 25,2011.
All funds remain local and support the meal program for elderly and disabled residents of Riverside, CA. Route sponsorships and volunteers are needed throughout the year.
